Audi BNG Engine

The Audi BNG engine is a Diesel driver codenamed BNG, which Audi started producing in 1994 to install it in the Audi A8. The A8 and other cars of the same series have built the entire Audi brand on their own and also made Audi one of the world’s biggest and most successful vehicle and engine manufacturers.

BNG Engine Specs

The Audi BNG driver came with a 2.0-litre turbo Diesel with a six-cylinder layout. The engine came with 24 valves and a 2967cc capacity. It had power in horsepower of 211hp and power in kilowatts of 155kW. The engine supported direct Diesel fuel injection using the fuel injector, which is the main difference between Diesel and Petrol engines. The driver also came with a 1.8-litre and a 2.7-litre size under the same codename.

Cars using the BNG Engine

Audi officially started using the BNG codenamed Diesel engine with the Audi A8 in 1994 that continued using it till 2010. It came with the traditional 2.0-litre size. The driver was launched with the Audi A6 in 1997 albeit with a 1.8-litre engine. The Audi A6 Allroad got the BNG codenamed driver with a 2.7-litre Diesel engine and used it till 2011. The A6 Avant also got the engine in 1997 till 2011 with a 1.8-litre size.
