After receiving some strong upgrades, Astra has become a true rival

The interior, as well as exterior and the body style, have been changed. There is an addition of smaller body but the space inside has not been compromised. New technology is now making the interior as well as driving and handling more attractive in Vauxhall Astra. The brand certainly stands out in small family hatchbacks with its efficient engines and is competing well with the bigger ones. It is all an affordable economical family car with a complete package. There are two body styles which are offered: one is a five-door hatchback and the Sports Tourer estate. But there is no three-door sportier version. This means that this one is only for the family men and women out there ready for a new adventure entering their lives which can change their routine drive to a whole new experience.

What is the capacity of its engines?

There is an impressive line-up presented to its buyers. The base engine is of 1.4-litre petrol engine. It is not a nice pick as it needs hard revving to reach a reasonable speed. Up next are the turbocharged engines that start with the three-cylinder 1.0-liter engine with a power output of 104bhp. There is a reasonable performance you can get out of this one while effort has to be applied when the drive is on a hilly terrain or on a faster road. The one providing a good output is the 1.6-litre in the petrol range. Then are the diesel ones that are the real power boosters for this vehicle. The 108bhp and 134bhp are among reasonable choices in the diesel where 134bhp stands out well. This one has a good emission and economy while the next one 158bhp is a potent diesel in this automobile but the economy and emission suffer.

 The ride comfort is stable

At no point does the Astra feel uncomfortable. The suspension is firm with a good body control and a quite cozy interior. There can be a little disturbance in the cabin due to an uneven road but it wears off quickly making the passenger forgive this behavior instantly. It seems to be keen on changing directions and does it well enough. Breaking performance is strong making the ride a safer one for its occupiers. These are the good points and where this one lacks perfection takes worthy points away which could otherwise make it a tough competition for the top positions.

Spacious interior

The exterior is stylish and classy so is its interior where no compromise has been made. The controls are well reachable to the driver and seating is comfortable. There is plenty of adjustment provided to the driver’s seat which means reaching a comfortable position might not be a problem. There is plenty of head and leg room to accommodate a tall passenger in the front and rear. The body style may be deceiving due to the inclination at the back but this does not affect the space inside.
