Does 118bhp feels right in a sporty hatchback?

People usually ask that is a sporty design and a massive kit of technologies with a 2000cc engine that can merely generate 118bhp, will leave us craving for the Mazda 3 sport black? Well, sure, certainly because it is not an engine from any cheater who repeatedly admitted that they have cheated the UK customers since 2009 or even before that with fake TDI technology and shitty fuel economy figures which were exclusively cheated through software.

Introduction of Skyactiv Engine Technology

Mazda introduced the Skyactiv engine technology when automakers were just thinking about how to decrease carbon emissions and how to increase the fuel economy to an optimised level. Now yet another time, Mazda is about to make an exclusive statement with its distinctive 3 black sport model in the UK. It is a hot hatch that will definitely give a tough time to its rivals in the market. It has been designed on the conventional Mazda 3 model but it has several design modifications to prove it a great hot hatch. Front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler, all finished in a shiny black gloss – thus the tag calls. It is not a conventional hatch by the way; it has 18 in alloys with dark gunmetal colouring and excellent outlook. The price for the 3 sport black starts from £20,995 and you can order the 3 black sport in several colour schemes in the UK. The colour scheme range includes but not limited to Snowflake White Pearlescent or Soul pink steel paints.

Mazda 3 sport black edition engines

Mazda's 2.0 litre Skyactiv-G petrol engines are selected to power the special sport black version. This engine develops 118bhp of power and 155lb/ft of torque. That’s not an earth shuddering engine and neither is resulting zero to 60mph time of less than 4 seconds like the sports car. But it is still an admired engine in the Mazda engine line-up. It sprints from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 8.9 seconds. It lacks plenty of torque at low revs, however above 2500rpm the Skyactiv-G starts singing the actual Skyactiv song. It revs very hard to get the maximum from it, as maximum power comes in at 6,000rpm. On the other hand, it has a direct power supply. You’ll find yourself downshifting to keep in its power band. However the six-speed manual gearbox is a pleasure and makes it a real fun to drive.

Practicality of the Mazda 3

The all new Mazda 3 sport black feels wonderful to be pushed into the corners, without an apparent feel of under steer until it's pushed very rough. Sporting credentials added by using a perfectly judged controlled set-up. It’s well-balanced, perfect and requires only a gentle touch to resourcefully join a series of curves collectively, even though there is not any criticism noticed so far.
